MONARCHY: мировая дорелизная премьера в STEREOBAZA

Группа Monarchy анон­си­ро­ва­ла выход ново­го сту­дий­но­го аль­бо­ма «mid:night». Официальная миро­вая доре­лиз­ная пре­мье­ра заглав­но­го сингла состо­ит­ся в бли­жай­шем выпус­ке пер­во­го аудио жур­на­ла STEREOBAZA на Просто Ради.О.

Напомним, Monarchy – это англий­ский дуэт, в состав кото­ро­го вхо­дят Ра Блэк (Ra Black) и Эндрю Армстронг (Andrew Armstrong). После того, как сум­мар­ные стрим-прослушивания пес­ни «Hula Hoop 8000» на циф­ро­вых плат­фор­мах пре­вы­си­ли отмет­ку в 2 млн, груп­па вошла, напри­мер, в 20-ку самых роти­ру­е­мых в эфи­ре в Испании, а так­же зара­бо­та­ла награ­ду “Trending band” на Los40 Music Awards.

Сонграйтер и вока­лист Ra Black так про­ком­мен­ти­ро­вал созда­ние новой ком­п­зи­ции:
«Семя» пес­ни заро­ди­лось после того, как я вер­нул­ся после путе­ше­ствия в Лондон и жёст­ко влю­бил­ся. Это было то раадост­ное голо­во­кру­же­ние, когда вы види­те люби­мо­го чело­ве­ка в каж­дом живом и неоду­шев­лен­ном объ­ек­те. Второй участ­ник дуэ­та — про­дю­сер Эндрю Армстронг — при­знал­ся:

MONARCHY release their new single and music video “mid:night”

It serves as the lead single and title track of their upcoming new album due for release before summer.

After achieving 2 million streams across digital platforms with their latest “synth-wave” track “Hula Hoop 8000”, breaking the Top 20 of the Spanish Airplay charts and receiving the “Trending band” award at the Los40 Music Awards, the London-based synth-pop duo Monarchy (Ra Black & Andrew Armstrong) are back with an amazing and danceable new tune “mid:night”, which gives title and serves as the lead single of their upcoming studio album to be released before the summer.

About the creation process for the song, Ra Black says “the seed of the song started when I came back to London after travelling a lot and just after falling in love HARD. It’s that joyful dizzy feeling of seeing the person you’ve fallen for in every animate and inanimate object. But I was also going through some difficult shit; multiple hardships and broken expectations. I would go running so I could keep my mind healthy, but there were moments where it was just too much, too complicated to process. So I created this midnight place as a sanctuary for my mind. I would close my eyes and go in to space. It made me feel small but calm among the stars.”

“For this song, I really wanted to use Ra¹s voice as an instrument, to add dynamic all the way through. So there¹s little vocal grabs, BV¹s, the big outro moment, and even percussive elements made up of Ra¹s voice. Then the rest is an exploration of French-styled funk and disco, but in a Monarchy setting” adds Andrew Armstrong.

“mid:night” comes with a stunning music video directed by the prestigious fashion photographer & director Alberto Van Stokkum. “For this video I wanted to mix two antagonistic universes such as the Amish world and the Latex one. When you combine these two elements the result is an obscure and disturbing aesthetic. Inside these two universes there is also a story happening, a forbidden love between two girls inside a bizarre and dehumanized community. The band plays for them, as music is also forbidden in the community and they go into trance and free themselves.”
